There are many ways that you can participate in our work! The following are just a few possibilities.
- Donate Your Skills!
Over the past two years, student artists and other volunteers have donated their time and skills to ‘refashion’ recycled materials into art and artifacts of tangible value. These items are then sold in participating stores or at auction to raise funds for our programs. Examples of skills in demand are:- fashion design
- furniture design
- woodworking
- quilting
- Write, Edit, or Design Materials for Our Programs
We always need help with various kinds of writing projects, layout and graphic design work. Some of the materials we need to create include:- press releases
- articles for newspapers, magazines, and other publications
- flyers
- website content
- Help Raise Funds
We are a grassroots organization with a very small staff. We rely on the energy and dedication of our volunteers to raise most of the money that we need to carry out and expand our programs. You can join this amazing group of people by:- hosting a house party
- helping to organize one of our benefit events
- researching grant possibilities and writing proposals
- volunteering at one of our events
- inventing a fundraising project of your own — If you have an idea that you’d like us to work on with you, we’d love to hear about it!

Contributions from our donors make our work possible. For example, to send a container to one of the programs we support, costs about $8000. To make a donation of any size, visit our donation page. In addition to financial contributions we are also seeking:- Clothing, linens, curtains, or any fabric source from which designers can create new fashions.
- Unused jewelry and purses.
- Children’s clothing, shoes and toys.
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs and other toiletries.
- First aid supplies.
- Books…lots of books! (in English or French), art and sewing supplies.
- Donated space for meetings and workshops.
- Use of a high volume printer or copier.
